Générique(s) : Performances for Movie Theaters

The Man Drake Company’s last two residencies in Bezons and Besançon gave us a chance to choreograph movie screenings in collaboration with the movie theaters of these two cities. In Besançon we worked in close collaboration with the cinema Le Kursaal and its manager Jean- Michel Crétin who gave us carte blanche to cut into the regular movie schedule. For about ten days we literally took over the cinema. We played usher and brought back the double feature. We imagined various events or performances based on the films being screened – the film’s beginnings served as our endings. It was like movie credits, only live.
